Why theatre in your school?
Theatre, the imagined and enacted world of human beings, is one of the primary ways children learn about life—about actions and consequences, about customs and beliefs, about others and themselves. Theatre helps students grow in their ability to comprehend their world. As they watch and participate in the theatre arts, they learn how to express themselves and how to communicate with others. Theatre benefits the student because it cultivates the whole person, gradually building many kinds of literacy while developing intuition, reasoning, imagination, and dexterity into unique forms of expression and communication.
The Bug Children’s Theatre Series desires to help cultivate theatre into the daily lives of your students through our programs that enrich, educate, and entertain. Each school that books a performance gets a copy of our teacher’s guide that includes suggestions for preparation and follow-up activities.
